Physiology

The mission of the Department of Physiology is to introduce future health care providers and biomedical scientists to the structure and function of the human body—pertinent, foundational information for all future education, practice, and research endeavors.

As effective teaching and learning are best achieved in a scholarly environment, the department strives to make original contribution to the body of knowledge that constitutes the foundation of evidence-based health care delivery. The department maintains an intimate size to provide individualized attention to students. Caring faculty and staff strive to ensure each student’s experience is optimized for any ‘next-step’ decisions the student chooses as they proceed in their professional medical education.
