Meharry Medical Clinics Reach Quality Metrics for Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH)

In 2018, Meharry Medical Group (MMG) contracted with the State of Tennessee for its Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program. The contract required MMG to become National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) accredited by midyear 2019 and the goal was reached.

On August 29, 2019, Meharry Medical Group (MMG) administration held a celebration to recognize this achievement for all four of Meharry’s primary care clinic locations-Family Medicine (main campus), Family Medicine (at Skyline), Pediatric Clinic (main campus), and Total Health (Antioch). Additionally, MMG achieved PCMH quality and efficiency star rating improvement of three stars with Amerigroup, four stars with BlueCare and five stars with United Health Care.

To celebrate these accomplishments and plan for the next year, MMG held its first Annual Quality Retreat on September 6, 2019. The purpose of the retreat was to discuss MMG’s quality program, share the 2018 accomplishments and provide data as it relates to the 2019-20 quality goals with providers and the leadership team. MMG is excited about the future that includes continuous improvement in quality that will result in improving the health of our patients over time.
