Inter-Professional Team Geriatric Case Training

More than 470 local college students of various health and social work fields took part, in person and remotely, in Inter-Professional Team Geriatric Case Training hosted by Meharry Medical College Friday, February 15th. The goal of the event was to practice teamwork and communication across disciplines. Students from Belmont, Lipscomb, NHC Health Care, Tennessee State University, University of Tennessee College of Social Work, Vanderbilt and Meharry formed teams and worked together to analyze a geriatric case and develop a care plan. Fields represented included nursing, dietetics and nutrition, medicine, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, speech and language pathology and audiology and social work.
