White Coat Ceremonies
August 12 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
The traditional ceremonies at Meharry Medical College initiating the professional school experience for those studying medicine, dentistry and research—the White Coat ceremonies (and pinning for master’s level students)—will take place Friday, August 12th in the ballroom of The Cal Turner Family Center for Student Education.
This day of White Coat ceremonies marks the first since the pandemic that family members and friends of students will be able to attend. The event will also be streamed on the Meharry Facebook and YouTube MeharryTube pages. Because room is limited and students and family have priority seating, Meharrians on campus are encouraged to view the ceremonies virtually.
Here is the schedule for White Coat ceremonies Friday:
The School of Graduate Studies and Research: 9-10 a.m.
The School of Medicine (in two groups):
SOM Group 1: 10:30- 11:30 a.m.
SOM Group 2: Noon-1 p.m.
The School of Dentistry: 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Because of limited parking space on campus, parking for visitors attending White Coat ceremonies will be off-campus at Jackson Street Church of Christ, 1408 Jackson Street with shuttle busses running from 8:15 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
