MLK Remembrance

MLK Remembrance Program—Meharry Medical College, Friday, January 12th, 10 a.m.-Noon, The Cal Turner Family Center for Student Education. Keynote Speaker: Bishop W. Walker III

A number of other area events to remember the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are open to the public.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Convocation—Fisk University, Thursday, January 11 at 10 a.m., Fisk Memorial Chapel. Open to the public.

2018 MLK Joint Day of Service—Saturday, January 13th, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Join students from colleges and universities across Nashville including Belmont, Fisk, Lipscomb, Meharry, Nashville State, Tennessee State, Trevecca and Vanderbilt in a day of community service, action and reflection as we honor the efforts and contributions of Dr. King.
A number of non-profit organizations in Nashville will be hosting service opportunities during the MLK Joint Day of Service.

10:30 a.m.-Noon – Sign-in/Registration and lunch at Fisk University
Noon-12:30 p.m. – Guest speaker
12:45 p.m. – Depart for service sites (transportation provided)
1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. – Service with local non-profit organizations
3:30 p.m. – Reflection and snacks at Fisk University
4:30 p.m. – Closing of the 2018 MLK Joint Day of Service

 and the Nashville Community invite you to 
celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

MLK Day Convocation—Tennessee State University, Monday, January 15th, 11 a.m. at the TSU Gentry Center.
